My client is a global organisation specializing in delivering and servicing mechanical powertrain components to miners and manufacturers and of mining equipment throughout Australia and the world.
Due to ongoing growth and internal restructuring, an excellent opportunity now exists to join and lead their highly successful Newcastle branch.
Answering to the Australasian Operations Manager, your remit will be to manage and incrementally improve the highly profitable branch in Newcastle, including operational branch planning; financial management and budgeting; quality; staff recruitment, training and retention; productivity and profitability; and customer service and satisfaction.
Functions within the branch include marketing, customer service, spare parts, and workshop, and consists of approximately 30 staff.
Ideally, you will be a professional manager with qualifications in mechanical engineering or related discipline. Experience managing people and business culture is essential, as your fit within the existing team and the overall business will be what defines your success in this role.
Experience in the mining equipment or other heavy machinery industries would be advantageous to your application, but not critical.
